DEL CASTILLO, three generations of Aurinegros

In the 80 years of history of the CB CANARIAS there are situations worth remembering. One of them is the one that throughout the decades, from the fifties to 2019, through the eighties, a family from La Laguna, from Concepción, has lived, which has put at the service of the Canarista, as if it were the military, four members.

We refer to the DEL CASTILLO family. Those who opened the black-gold path were the brothers Domingo and Manuel Del Castillo. The first was one of the players from that CB Canarias with the leather ball and patched Email Data with thick thread, we can see him in the two photos above, in the first the third from the left, crouching, in the second image the second standing, from left to right, in the company of Paco Pérez Llombet, Ezequiel Pinto, Lucas Santana, Enroque Carracedo, Elfidio Alonso, Isidoro Salazar and the one remembered as alma mater Juan Ríos Tejera, affectionately known as "Juanito Cabeza."

And we reach the generation of the 21st century, where we find the continuator of the Del Castillo saga. This is Jorge, who currently plays in the Cajasiete Canarias junior team. We see him with the number 6 on his shirt, above the "j." He is a good athlete, although he will have to continue working in each preparatory session if he wants to improve the basketball that, according to history, his grandfather played in the fifties, or the one that that tall and strong player from the Canary Islands had in his hands and legs. of the eighties.
